Job summary

Gresham Smith is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Building Engineering Team in Orlando. You will lead electrical design for healthcare projects, coordinate with clients, and ensure codes and standards are applied effectively.

Responsibilities include scoping, budgeting, and scheduling tasks, producing drawings in REVIT, ETAP, and VISUAL lighting, and traveling to site meetings for progress inspections and AHJ coordination.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering with a P.E. license.
  • 8+ years of electrical design experience, healthcare focus.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC/NFPA and building codes.
  • Proficient with REVIT, ETAP and VISUAL lighting software.
  • Excellent client-facing and communication abilities.

Desired Qualifications:
  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Building Engineering Team.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will:
  • Have the ability to determine scope, budget, and schedule for each task. Performs design and/or assigns task to team members, and monitor status of completion.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate electrical engineering work. Prepare engineering reports, plans and specifications for a variety of projects. Design and produce engineering drawings using REVIT, ETAP and VISUAL lighting software. Check and revise engineering drawings.
  • Prepare and review plans and technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates. Participate in contract bidding and administration.
  • Lead and review the design and ongoing progress of a project. Communicate and interact with project team members, client representatives, review agencies and others as appropriate to project.
  • Collaborate in solving a variety of complex engineering problems (e.g., conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements).
  • Research codes and apply knowledge of code requirements and standards to designs.
  • Produce contract documents including drawings, specifications, review designs, proposals, shop drawings and contractor comments for electrical engineering practice and conformance with established safety and design criteria.
  • Travel to job sites for construction administration meetings, construction progress inspections, and meetings with AHJ’s.
