We are seeking a licensed Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Aviation team in Washington, D.C.

Summary

The Senior Engineer makes independent decisions on engineering problems and methods, using advanced techniques and extending theories and practices of the field. They provide supervision and guidance for overall objectives, critical issues, and policy matters. They develop solutions for complex projects, supervise and review work of junior staff, and develop technical expertise, possibly specializing in niche areas. The role involves mentoring staff, ensuring project delivery on time, within budget, and to high standards of quality and client satisfaction.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Ensure adherence to company technical policies during project execution.
2. Lead in developing design approaches and concepts, seeking assistance from senior technical staff when needed.
3. Perform engineering studies, design analyses, and assist in establishing budgets, estimates, and schedules.
4. Review shop drawings, record changes, and communicate with suppliers, contractors, and clients.
5. Conduct on-site inspections and coordinate with contractors and suppliers.
6. Develop innovative technical solutions to improve efficiency, quality, and production.
7. Supervise the scoping, implementation, and design of plans.
8. Maintain high-quality design review and develop specialized expertise in target markets.
9. Assist project managers in coordinating designs and client proposals.
10. Mentor junior staff and participate in professional organizations to enhance the firm's reputation.
11. Set technical direction and delegate tasks, retaining complex, high-value tasks.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer with a B.S. in Engineering and at least 10 years of related experience or equivalent.
• Proven experience in electrical engineering within the aviation sector preferred.
