Shield AI in Washington, DC area seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to drive architecture, sub‑system and circuit design for a next‑generation autonomous aircraft system. You will own hardware development from concept through release, leading cross‑functional teams and mentoring colleagues to deliver robust, fielded solutions.

You will collaborate with mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams to define requirements, select parts, simulate and verify designs, and ensure timely

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
• 8+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer
• Strong technical fundamentals
• Led multiple product design cycles across EE, ME, SW
• Proven track record of ownership and delivering high‑quality solutions

Responsibilities

• Drive architecture, sub‑system, and circuit design for next‑gen autonomous aircraft systems
• Support design and integration of embedded systems and sensors enabling aircraft autonomy
• Define technical product requirements and features
• Lead and mentor teammates on the project
• Own circuit part selection, schematic capture, simulation, verification, and release to production
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams (mechanical, embedded, software, manufacturing, supply chain)
• Manage project timelines and deliverables
• Conduct design reviews and integrate firmware logic into build/release cycles
• Provide feedback to other teams to improve hardware development and aircraft reliability
