We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (Contractor) to join our hardware team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring our robotic medical device meets stringent compliance standards while leading the electrical design, documentation, testing, and troubleshooting efforts. This is a high-impact role for an experienced engineer passionate about medical devices and advanced robotics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and maintenance of electrical design documentation (schematics, specifications, test protocols) aligned with FDA, IEC, ISO, and other regulatory standards.
• Conduct and oversee design verification, validation testing, and system performance evaluations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues throughout the product lifecycle.
• Specify, design, and build electrical hardware for high-performance robotic systems.
• Collaborate with Embedded, Systems, and Mechanical Engineers to integrate processing and sensing components.
• Partner with QA teams to support regulatory documentation and testing.
• Oversee component selection, schematic capture, and PCB layout using Altium Designer.
• Design and build board testers and production test equipment.
• Perform board-level diagnostics and failure analysis.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in electrical systems design.
• Experience working on Class II or III medical devices (IEC 60601 / 80601-2-77 preferred).
• Proficiency in Altium Designer for PCB schematic capture and layout.
• Familiarity with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, USB, CAN.
• Experience with high-speed signal routing, impedance control, and flex circuit design.
• Hands-on experience with BLDC motors, power electronics, and thermal analysis.
• Working knowledge of Python and LabVIEW for automation and data acquisition.
• Expertise in EMI, EMC, ESD mitigation, and shielding strategies.
• Strong background in test planning, execution, and regulatory documentation.
• Skilled in troubleshooting and root cause analysis at both board and system level.
