Job description

Job Description

Job Summary: This position is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining control systems for industrial cooling applications. This role focuses on integrating and optimizing control strategies for cooling equipment to ensure a stable and efficient operating environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in control systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Control System Design & Integration: Develop control system architectures. Design and implement control algorithms to dynamically adjust cooling capacity based on real‑time data (e.g., temperature, humidity, load). Integrate sensors, controllers, and actuators (e.g., PLCs, RTUs) to monitor and control cooling systems. Create and update electrical schematics, control diagrams, and process flow diagrams for data center cooling systems.
  • Programming & Commissioning: Program and configure controllers and develop HMI/SCADA interfaces tailored to data center cooling operations. Commission, test, and validate control systems, ensuring smooth startup and reliable performance. Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues.
  • Collaboration & Project Management: Work closely with teams to ensure cooling solutions meet performance requirements. Participate in cross‑functional design reviews, providing technical insights on cooling control challenges and opportunities. Assist in planning, scheduling, and budgeting for data center cooling projects and retrofits.
  • Maintenance & Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for control system designs, programming changes, and maintenance procedures. Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for operational cooling systems.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure that all cooling control systems comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations (e.g., UL/CE guidelines).
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., HVAC, refrigeration).

Experience: 3+ years of experience in designing, programming, and maintaining control systems. Hands‑on experience with PLC programming, HMI/SCADA development, and integration of sensor networks.

Skills & Competencies: Strong understanding of control systems, automation, and cooling fundamentals (thermal management, airflow, and load balancing). Proficient in creating and interpreting electrical schematics and control logic diagrams. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills. Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

Additional Requirements: Ability to work on‑site and travel as needed for installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in cooling and automation technologies.

Compensation

Compensation range $120,000- $140,000 plus bonus eligible.
