Job SummaryKnightscope is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our product development team and own electrical design across our hardware programs. In this role, you will lead electrical system design, subsystem development, component integration, battery selection, and wire harnessing across multiple hardware programs—from early prototyping through production readiness. You will work cross-functionally with mechanical, software, and systems engineers in a fast-paced, gate-driven product development environment and play a critical role in shaping our hardware products. This is a self-directed role; assignments may span multiple programs and platforms as priorities evolve.
About The RoleThe role is an ownership-driven position within a multidisciplinary program team, requiring a senior, hands-on engineer who is comfortable operating in ambiguity, working independently with minimal direction, getting dirty and driving decisions across mechanical, electrical, and software boundaries. You will be expected to make thoughtful tradeoffs and carry designs from early concept and prototyping through to production.
The individual will own the full electrical scope of our hardware products, including CPU, GPU, and compute-module evaluation, power distribution, battery selection, working knowledge of video, audio, and router systems, thermal management and testing support. The current priority is a body-worn / wearable platform, but this person should expect to contribute to other hardware programs over time.
