Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. in Virginia is seeking an experienced electrical design engineer to own complex transformer projects for the North American market.

You will apply advanced engineering tools to deliver high-quality, reliable transformer solutions and collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of five years of experience in transformer design, with strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Creo, and Microsoft

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design for power transformer manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering theory and practical application.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Creo (3D CAD).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and evaluate power transformer systems, components, and electrical models.
  • Develop simulations and apply advanced analytical tools to address engineering challenges.
  • Lead technical investigations and develop practical, data-driven solutions.
  • Prepare and present engineering recommendations, reports, and technical documentation.
  • Support economic studies, technical specifications, and customer proposals.
  • Collaborate directly with customers to resolve complex technical issues and define action plans.
  • Represent the engineering team in internal and external meetings and technical discussions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance performance, reliability, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Your background
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design within the power transformer manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering theory and practical application.
  • Experience using AutoCAD; familiarity with 3D CAD tools such as Creo is an advantage.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, collaboration, and organizational skills with fluency in English.
