Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review and approve plan layouts and create/modify designs.
• Review and approve prototypes or models built with simulation.
• Write detailed functional specs and design flow decisions.
• Support new technology introduction.
• Act as SME to engineering staff and evaluate hardware/software interfaces.
• Provide training and support to system designers and users.
• Design and develop hardware and peripherals including SoC and interfaces.
• Direct technicians and other staff as needed.
• Deliverables will be evaluated for hardware design, prototypes, docs and cross-functional communication.

Job Responsibilities

• Review and approve plan layout, including creating new designs and modifications of existing designs.
• Review and approve product prototypes, working models or theoretical models constructed with computer simulation.
• Write detailed functional specifications and design flow/tradeoff.
• Support new technology introduction.
• Act as a subject matter expert to engineering staff and consult specifications to evaluate interface between hardware and software and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
• Provide training and support to system designers and users.
• Design and develop hardware and support peripherals, including system-on-chip (SoC), support logic, microprocessors, custom integrated circuits, and system interconnection.
• Direct technicians, engineering designers or other technical support personnel as needed.
• Candidates will be evaluated based on their deliverables in hardware design and prototype builds, as well as documentation and communications with cross-functional teams.
