Job summary

Kelly Science, Engineering, Technology & Telecom is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for complex automated equipment in Reno, NV. The role requires strong expertise in electrical systems, controls, and hardware, and entails close collaboration with cross-functional teams.

You will guide design decisions, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to product development from concept to manufacturing. This is a 100% onsite position with relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of Electrical Engineering experience in complex equipment, automation, robotics, or similar environments.
• Strong experience with microcontrollers, motor-drive design, PLCs, DC switching, and electrical hardware design.
• Proven ability to independently solve complex technical problems and communicate across teams.
• Ability to work onsite in Reno, NV.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and development for new products, product improvements, and sustaining engineering projects.
• Design and troubleshoot electrical systems for complex automated or robotic equipment.
• Drive technical decisions involving microcontrollers, motor drives, PLCs, DC switching, and related electrical components.
• Partner with Mechanical, Firmware, Software, Manufacturing, and Quality teams throughout the product-development lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and support root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Mentor less-experienced engineers and contribute to technical design reviews.

Compensation: $180,000–$230,000 annually, depending on experience

This individual will bring deep technical expertise in electrical systems, controls, and hardware design while partnering closely with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience designing electrical systems for robotic, automated, or mechatronic equipment.

• Background in life sciences, medical device, laboratory automation, aerospace, automotive, or industrial automation.
