Job summary

Engineering Resource Group seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to architect and design next-generation high-performance test and measurement instrumentation. You will craft RF/microwave assemblies and precision analog front ends, and direct layout of high-frequency PCBs and ceramic packages.

You will evaluate tradeoffs, generate architecture documentation, design automated tests, and drive production readiness through sustaining engineering changes.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years electronic hardware design experience.
• Experience with RF/microwave circuit design.
• PCB layout for high-frequency circuits.
• Experience with RF/EM simulation tools such as ADS, Microwave Office, HFSS or CST.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Permanent position for a Senior Electrical Engineer to architect and design next-generation high-performance test and measurement instrumentation.
• Architect and design RF/microwave assemblies, precision analog and mixed-signal circuitry for high-bandwidth signal acquisition front ends.
• Develop schematics and direct layout of high-frequency multilayer PCBs and ceramic/organic packages.
• Evaluate design tradeoffs and technical risk to select architectures that meet product specifications.
• Generate architecture and product planning documentation.
• Design test fixtures and automated test routines for prototype characterization.
• Support the full product lifecycle from requirements definition through production release and sustaining engineering changes.
• Responsible for release of the engineering design package into production configuration management.
• BS or MS Electrical Engineering (BSEE, MSEE).
• Minimum 5 years of electronic hardware design experience.
• Experience with RF and microwave circuit design, including PCB layout for high-frequency circuits.
• Experience with RF/EM simulation tools such as ADS, Microwave Office, HFSS or CST.
• Experience designing precision analog, mixed-signal (ADC/DAC) and power supply circuitry.
• Hands-on RF/analog/digital lab experience with network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators and oscilloscopes.
• Experience with circuit simulation and analysis using SPICE, MATLAB or similar tools a plus.
• Python or similar scripting for measurement automation and data analysis a plus.
• Knowledge of microcontrollers, clocking design and DSP fundamentals a plus.
