Contract Specialties Group, Ltd. in Hauppauge, NY seeks an experienced RF/Microwave Engineer to design, develop, test, and support production of active and passive microwave circuits and multi-function modules.

You will synthesize circuits with CAE tools and perform EM and linear simulations for high-frequency components, collaborating with customers, suppliers, and internal teams. You will manage project schedules, generate test reports, and push for manufacturability, quality, and cost targets

Competenze

• Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Microwave circuit design and simulation experience in multiple active components (oscillators, synthesizers, PIN diode circuits, LNA, IMA).
• Proficient with microwave test equipment (VNA, spectrum analyzer, power meters, noise figure meters).
• Proficient in linear CAE, especially Keysight ADS; capable with non-linear CAE.
• Familiarity with GaAs/GaN devices and solid communication skills.
• Ability to obtain Secret Level Security Clearance.

The Specialist, RF/Microwave Engineer is an experienced professional with proficient capability to perform high frequency design and system cascade analysis. Working alongside an experienced engineering team, the position offers an individual the opportunity to play a key role in the development of cutting-edge Integrated Microwave Assemblies (IMAs), and novel active and passive high frequency components. Must be able to synthesize and develop microwave circuits using CAE analysis tools and possess hands on bench development and test skills. Has practical knowledge of project management and shall effectively communicate with contacts inside and outside of own department, customers, and suppliers. Will recommend enhancements to systems and processes and work to achieve technical performance while meeting schedule and cost operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on departmental results.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or a Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
• Microwave circuit design and simulation experience in at least two, but preferably more, active component areas. RF/Microwave active component areas include, but are not limited to, the following: oscillators, synthesizers, PIN diode circuits, low noise amplifiers, integrated microwave assemblies.
• Practical use and understanding of microwave test equipment including network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, and noise figure meters.
• Proficient in linear CAE, particularly using Keysight ADS. Capability using non-linear CAE.
• Familiarity with device semiconductors, such as GaAs and GaN.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to gain Secret Level Security Clearance.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Experience in the design of passive components including coupling networks, power dividers and attenuators.
• Knowledge/application of filter synthesis and design.
• Significant System analysis experience comprising both cascade and spur analysis.
• Ability to manage projects and interface effectively with other functional areas.
• Experience using EM simulation CAE. Keysight RFPro and/or Ansys HFSS are preferred.
• Use of CAD tools such as AutoDesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Design/test experience of circuits operating through 26GHz, with operation through 67GHz preferred.
• Experience designing with both chip and wire hybrid and PCB surface mount components.
• Hands-on experience testing and aligning fine pitch circuits under a microscope.
• College level courses (or equivalent) on RF/Microwave circuit and/or system design.
