Job Description Overview

The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design and development of high-performance electronic systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PCB design, FPGA development, and mixed-signal system integration, with the ability to take ownership of designs from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead schematic capture, PCB design, layout, and verification of complex high-density boards using Altium Designer.
  • Design and implement FPGA/HDL solutions for data acquisition, control, and system integration.
  • Develop mixed-signal electronics combining analog and digital domains.
  • Support embedded and application-level development (C, C++, Python) for board bring-up, automation, and test.
  • Design and implement tool sets to conduct rigorous verification and validation (V&V) processes for new designs, along with establishing comprehensive production testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams (mechanical, software, systems) to deliver robust solutions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation aligned with regulatory requirements (e.g., IEC 60601, ISO 13485, FDA).
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design reviews and process improvements.
Prior Experience
  • 6 years of progressive electrical engineering experience with increasing design ownership and system-level responsibility.
  • Proven background in PCB design, FPGA/HDL development, and mixed-signal system integration.
  • Experience across the full product lifecycle, from concept through production, including design validation, verification, and root-cause analysis.
  • Background in regulated industries (medical, aerospace, or equivalent) with documentation and compliance protocols.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • BSEE required; MSEE preferred (or equivalent experience).
Additional Skills
  • Proficiency with simulation and analysis tools, such as SPICE, HyperLynx, and related signal/thermal integrity analysis
  • Experience with test automation, scripting, and data analysis (Python, LabVIEW, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of compliance testing and design practices for EMI/EMC, safety, reliability, and medical device standards (e.g., IEC 60601, ISO 13485, FDA)
  • Familiarity with DFM/DFT practices, manufacturing test processes, and collaboration with contract manufacturers.
