Job description

S eno Medical's imaging system uses opto-acoustic technology interleaved with ultrasound to generate functional and anatomical images of the breast. As a new imaging modality, Seno believes its Imagio™ breast imaging system will be a more effective tool to help radiologists confirm or rule out malignancies than current diagnostic imaging approaches, without exposing patients to potentially harmful ionizing radiation (X-rays) or contrast agents.

Job Description

Lead the electrical engineering design team to develop ground-breaking medical imaging products based on opto-acoustic / ultrasound. Work with a highly motivated and focused team to launch a new modality for detection of cancer, saving lives and improving care for women worldwide.

OA/US has already provided dramatic results in clinical trials on breast cancer, and has potential to address other types of cancer. Seno Medical Instruments is in an exciting phase of early product development, with technology proven in prototype.

The principal engineer will be involved in all phases of the development lifecycle, including technology strategic planning, system architectures, design of electrical subsystems, and sustaining the product designs. They will work on power conversion and distribution, RF signal reception, micro-controllers, computer interfaces, user interfaces, electro‑mechanical drivers, and electro‑optical circuits. They may design board or custom circuits, and provide guidance and technical oversight for a small team.

Qualifications

Experience in a highly regulated industry is highly desirable, such as medical, aerospace, or automotive. Medical device experience is preferred.

Minimum of 10 years of electrical engineering product development, with experience in one or more of the following:

  • Low‑noise RF/ultrasound receiver design
  • Low‑noise and high voltage power supply design and power distribution
  • High bandwidth time‑sensitive data communication with embedded high performance parallel signal and image processing (e.g., GPU, FPGA)
  • Design for Manufacturing

A Master’s of Science degree in electrical engineering.

Ability to clearly communicate complex subjects or issues to colleagues at all levels.

Ability to motivate and influence team members and deliverable owners to meet aggressive schedule goals.

Ability to identify, manage, and retire technical and project risk.
