Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group seeks electrical design engineers to select and integrate motors starters, VFDs, switches and LV transformers for North America. You will size conductors, create wiring diagrams, design UL-stamped panels and drafting schematics, while implementing PLM changes and coordinating CAD work with global teams.

You will also support production, interact with clients to resolve technical issues, and prepare DVP&R and test requests for validation, ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• Experience with UL508, UL508A, NFPA79, NFPA 70, CSA equivalencies for North America.
• Experience with IEC and IEEE electrical design international standards.
• Proficiency in electrical design software: ePlan P8, WSCAD, SEE Electrical, E3.Series, Electra E8.
• Experience with Hazard Location projects specifically in North America.
• Basic understanding of Distributed Control Systems, PLCs, HMI, and I/O lists.
• Basic understanding of P&IDs interpretation.
• Experience creating FAT and SAT protocols and supporting commissioning.
• Proficient with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of MV/LV distribution and power electronics basics.
• Experience with CE standards for European market; electrical design tools like Powerplant, ETAP, Caneco.
• Knowledge of functional safety concepts (SIL, risk analysis).

• Do Conductors’ calculation and sizing and wiring diagrams.
• Do panels design and construction for North America (UL stamped).
• Do the wiring schematics.
• Implement the engineering design changes following ECM (Engineering change management process) within PLM.
• Manage the CAD Design & BOM.
• Interact with global designers to prepare the CAD design.
• Interact with shop floor technicians/ manufacturing team to support the production build.
• Interact with clients and solve the technical design issues.
• Prepare the DVP&R (Design Verification Plan and Report).
• Write the Test Request for product validation.
• Work with technicians/vendors to complete the product validation.

Requirement

• Experience with the following standards UL508, UL508A, NFPA79, NFPA 70, CSA equivalencies and other standards for North America.
• Experience with electrical design international standards IEC and IEEE.
• Good command of at least one electrical design software like ePlan P8, WSCAD, SEE Electrical, E3.Series, Electra E8, etc…
• Experience with projects for Hazard Location specially in North America.
• Basic understanding in Distributed Control Systems and its topologies and components: PLCs, RIOS, HMI, Switch, Gateway, etc.
• Basic understanding of control engineering: Automata, Communication protocols, Control signals, I/O lists, etc.
• Basic understanding and interpretation of P&IDs.
• Experience elaborating FAT and SAT protocols and supporting commissioning.
• Use of basic office software: Excel, Word and PPT.
• Basic knowledge in MV/LV distribution systems.
• Basic knowledge in power electronics: Rectifiers, Inverters, IGBTs, Tiristors….
• Some experience with European design standards or designing panels for European market (CE stamped)
• Some experience in electrical simulation and calculation software as Powerplant, Etap, Caneco etc.
• Basic knowledge in functional safety procedures (SIL levels, Hazards analysis, Risk Matrix…)
