Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group in Minneapolis seeks an instrumentation and controls engineer to design, select, and integrate components for Safety Instrumented Systems and related safety applications.

The role requires knowledge of NFPA 70, UL 508/508A, NEC, IEC/IEEE standards, plus hands-on experience with PFD/PID diagrams, electrical drawings, and tools like WSCAD, SEE Electrical, and AutoCAD Electrical. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience with Safety Instrumented Systems and safety-related instrument selection.
• Strong knowledge of NA electrical and safety standards.
• Experience with HAZOP & LOPA.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a matrix organization.
• Background in PFD, P&ID, electrical drawings and LV considerations.

• Working understanding of Siemens PLC’s, analog/digital inputs, etc.
• Experience with projects for Hazard Location specially in North America.
• Proactive person who takes ownership over the assigned duties.
• Experience in international engineering teams.
• Previous experience with DFMA.
• Previous experience developing and driving internal WF processes cross disciplines.
• Ability to work in design, & selection environments, as well as manufacturing & commissioning.
• Must be able to deal with complex and sometimes contradicting requirements.
• Can handle ambiguity by decoupling major goals into achievable work packages.
• Ability to travel as needed.
