This individual will have end-to-end technical responsibility for the test system, including electrical test architecture, automation, controls, data capture, product identification, supplier selection, installation, commissioning, and final handoff to manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience designing and installing medium-voltage factory test equipment or test cells and has successfully led suppliers, system integrators, electrical contractors, and engineering partners through implementation. This role requires someone who can take ownership of the project from initial design and equipment selection through installation and commissioning.

This position can be performed remotely with approximately 35% travel to manufacturing sites, equipment suppliers, engineering partners, and contractor locations.

Skills and Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • 10+ years of relevant electrical engineering, electrical testing, factory test systems, or related experience preferred.
  • Hands-on experience designing and installing medium-voltage electrical test equipment, production test cells, or factory test systems.
  • Experience managing the installation and commissioning of medium-voltage factory test cells or similar electrical testing facilities.
  • Strong understanding of medium-voltage electrical systems, electrical testing practices, electrical safety, controls, instrumentation, and automated test systems.
  • Experience working directly with test-equipment manufacturers, engineering firms, system integrators, electrical contractors, and equipment installers.
  • Experience defining electrical test equipment, controls, safety systems, fixtures, guarding, and overall test-cell requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience managing engineering contractors and equipment suppliers from technical specification and vendor selection through installation and commissioning.
  • Ability to coordinate electrical infrastructure, site preparation, equipment installation, grounding, system integration, and commissioning activities.
  • Strong technical project leadership skills with experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, supplier deliverables, technical risks, and multiple external partners.
  • Experience developing technical requirements and scopes of work for equipment suppliers, engineering firms, integrators, and contractors.
  • Strong understanding of applicable industry standards and requirements related to medium-voltage electrical testing and electrical safety.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across engineering, manufacturing, procurement, sourcing, EHS, facilities, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to approximately 35% as needed.
  • Previous experience working within an electrical contractor, industrial electrical engineering firm, manufacturing organization, or test-equipment provider.
  • Experience designing and implementing automated production test sequences for medium-voltage electrical components.
  • Experience integrating automation or robotics into electrical testing or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience designing test fixtures, test cages, safety interlocks, guarding, or other physical components of electrical test cells.
  • Experience evaluating and selecting medium-voltage test-equipment manufacturers, electrical contractors, system integrators, and engineering partners.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations through equipment commissioning, documentation, training, and final system handoff.
