Job summary

ONICON Incorporated is seeking a highly capable Sr. Electrical Engineer to develop the analog signal chain for various sensing technologies in the ONICON family of flow and BTU metering systems. You will lead electronics from concept to production, refining circuits and guiding a technical project across disciplines.

The role requires 7+ years in analog design and instrumentation, strong communication skills, and leadership. Travel may be involved; a PE license is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; advanced degree is a plus.
  • 7+ years analog circuit design and analysis experience with error budgets.
  • 7+ years hands-on development of measurement/instrumentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Altium Designer and PCB layout is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electronics design from concept through production release.
  • Prepare project procedures and collaborate with teams.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, and manufacturing engineers.
  • Design electronics that comply with industry standards.
  • Update and train design processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Lead development of test procedures and equipment with 3rd party vendors.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Sr. Electrical Engineer to join our team at ONICON. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing the analog signal chain required to capture and report data from a variety of sensing technologies used in the ONICON family of flow and BTU metering systems. This includes developing and refining new circuits and improving existing ones. This job also includes being a technical project lead for the development of precision measurement devices.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead electronic design activities from concept through production release, including schematic development, SPICE simulation, PCB layout, Design Reviews and prototype testing.
  • Assist in the preparation and development of project specific procedures
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical, firmware, and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure integrated product development.
  • Support and drive efforts to design electronics that comply with industry standards
  • Update, maintain and train electrical design processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Lead and oversee the development of test procedures and equipment including with 3rd party vendors.

Qualifications:

  • Education Requirements:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Related (Masters or PhD is a plus)
  • 7+ years’ experience with analog circuit design and analysis including error budgets
  • 7+ years’ experience in hands-on development of measurement and/or scientific instrumentation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Altium Design Suite
    • PCB Layout
    • 10+ years of related experience
    • Technical Leadership
    • Registered P.E.
    • Mixed analog and digital circuit design and analysis
    • Strong analytical, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills
    • Experience designing tests, analyzing data and interpreting test results
    • Embedded systems design

Physical Demands:

  • The employee may be occasionally required to travel nationally to attend conferences and support testing, and integration efforts Travel may involve overnight stays air travel driving personal vehicle.
