Job summary

Confidential is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join its growing R&D team focused on advanced power‑electronics. This role emphasizes hands‑on lab work, solving complex technical challenges, and mentoring junior engineers while influencing architecture, design direction, and engineering processes.

In this position you will design and develop power circuits, lead prototype build and validation, and collaborate with manufacturing on DFM/DFT and production ramp.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical or power‑electronics design.
  • Strong background in AC/DC and/or DC/DC power conversion.
  • Experience designing robust, reliable circuits.
  • Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB design tools.
  • Hands‑on lab experience debugging and validating power circuits.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

  • Support root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for electrical failures.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join a growing R&D team focused on developing advanced power‑electronics products. This role is highly hands‑on and ideal for an engineer who enjoys lab work, solving complex technical challenges, and contributing to full product lifecycle development.

The position offers the opportunity to influence, architecture, design direction, and engineering processes while collaborating closely with manufacturing, testing, and global engineering teams. The ideal candidate is a strong individual contributor who also enjoys mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop power‑electronic circuits and systems (AC/DC, DC/DC, protection circuitry, control electronics)
  • Perform schematic design, component selection, simulation, and support PCB layout
  • Lead prototype build, bring‑up, debugging, and validation testing
  • Create and execute electrical test plans for performance, reliability, and compliance
  • Collaborate with manufacturing on DFM, DFT, and production ramp

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with surge, transient, or lightning testing (IEC 61000‑4‑5, IEEE C62.41, etc.)
  • Familiarity with UL 1449 or similar compliance standards
  • Knowledge of EMC/EMI testing and mitigation
  • Experience working with external test labs
  • Background in industrial, high‑reliability, or energy‑related products
  • Experience supporting products from concept through production
