Job summary

Captivate Staffing Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer and Engineer of Record for large-scale commercial, residential, and institutional projects across South Florida. You will lead complex electrical designs from concept through construction, ensuring compliance with Florida codes, permitting requirements, and project-quality standards.

This is a high-impact leadership role requiring strong technical, project-management, and client-facing skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Active Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
• 5–10+ years of Electrical consulting experience focused on building systems
• Advanced proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD
• Experience with SKM, ETAP, EasyPower, or similar electrical analysis software
• Expert knowledge of NEC, Florida Building Code, and NFPA standards
• High-rise residential or healthcare/AHCA experience preferred
• LEED AP or RCDD certification preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills

Responsibilities

• Sign/seal electrical construction documents in Florida as Engineer of Record
• Lead electrical design for power distribution, emergency generation, lighting controls, and fire alarm systems
• Perform and review arc flash, short circuit, and coordination studies
• Manage projects from initial client meetings through commissioning
• Quality control and peer reviews of MEP construction documents
• Coordinate with architects, developers, contractors, and other engineering disciplines
• Serve as primary technical contact for clients and municipal officials
• Mentor EITs and junior engineers/designers

They will lead complex electrical designs, oversee projects from initial concept through construction, and ensure all designs meet Florida codes, permitting requirements, and quality standards. This is a high-impact leadership role for an experienced engineer with strong technical, project management, and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Engineer of Record and sign/seal electrical construction documents in Florida
• Lead electrical design for power distribution, emergency generation, lighting controls, and fire alarm systems
• Perform and review Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Coordination studies
• Manage projects from initial client meetings through final commissioning
• Perform detailed quality control and peer reviews of MEP construction documents
• Coordinate with architects, developers, contractors, and other engineering disciplines
