Job Summary

The Senior Electrical Engineer serves as a core technical authority for industrial power generation, paralleling switchgear systems, and complex microgrid architectures. In this role, you will own the end-to-end electrical design integrity, short-circuit protection coordination, and control architecture for high-reliability power systems deployed nationwide. You will lead advanced system modeling, perform rigorous power system studies, oversee low- and medium-voltage control system integration, and act as a primary technical consultant for grid-interconnection requirements and regulatory compliance.

Essential Duties
  • Protection Coordination & System Modeling: Lead advanced power system studies—including short-circuit analysis, arc flash mitigation, load flow, and protective relay coordination—utilizing industry-standard software (e.g., ETAP, SKM Power*Tools).
  • Medium & Low-Voltage System Design: Design complex low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems, industrial generator packaging, and paralleling switchgear assemblies.
  • Control Systems Integration: Oversee the development and integration of advanced control architectures, ranging from individual generator control systems to site-level PLC logic and monitoring systems.
  • Grid-Interconnection & Utility Interface: Provide critical engineering insight and technical coordination for grid-interconnection studies, ensuring seamless synchronization between distributed power systems and utility networks.
  • Regulatory & Code Compliance: Ensure complete compliance with applicable codes and standards (such as NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, and UL requirements) across both equipment manufacturing and site-level deployments.
  • Technical Project Leadership: Manage technical workstreams across cross-functional engineering, production, and field teams to keep complex power system projects moving forward efficiently.
  • Advanced Root-Cause Analysis: Serve as an advanced escalation point for complex electrical, mechanical, and control system anomalies during factory testing, validation, and field implementation.
  • Lead Project Engineer: Responsible for design from concept through commissioning for utility-scale and industrial power projects, including preparation of specifications, drawings, and material lists.
  • Collaborate: Work with Cross-Functional Teams including civil, mechanical, and operations staff to coordinate project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Provide Technical Leadership to junior engineers, drafters, and field personnel, including mentoring and training on power system principles and safety practices.
  • Conduct Site Visits to support construction, commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance verification of electrical systems.
  • Interface with Clients, Utilities, and Regulatory Agencies to address technical questions, provide progress updates, and resolve design or operational issues.
  • Respond to Operational Issues in real-time, providing root cause analysis and corrective actions for system disturbances or equipment failures.
  • All other duties assigned.
