Job summary

Zurn Elkay Water Solutions Corporation is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the New Product Development team. You will design, develop, and validate electrical systems for innovative drinking water products, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet customer, regulatory, and business requirements.

You will lead architecture, schematics, PCB layouts, and wiring diagrams while ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master's preferred.
• 3+ years in product development or consumer/commercial products.
• Strong knowledge of circuit design, PCB layout, power electronics, sensors, and connectivity.
• Familiarity with microcontrollers, embedded systems, and IoT technologies preferred.
• Hands-on experience with lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters).

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of electrical systems, circuits, and components for new drinking water products.
• Develop system architecture, schematics, PCB layouts, and wiring diagrams.
• Ensure compliance with safety, performance, and regulatory standards (UL, FCC, CE, NSF).
• Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, and software engineers to deliver integrated product designs.
• Support prototype builds, testing, and design validation activities.
• Analyze and troubleshoot electrical issues, implementing corrective actions.
• Partner with suppliers and manufacturing to drive component selection, cost optimization, and DFM.
• Participate in project planning, milestone reviews, and cross-functional design reviews.
• Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, specifications, and test reports.
• Stay current with emerging technologies to drive innovation in connected water solutions.

The Electrical Engineer will be a key member of the Drinking Water business unit's New Product Development (NPD) team at Zurn Elkay Water Solutions. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and validating electrical systems and components that enable innovative and reliable drinking water solutions. The Electrical Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional engineering disciplines, product management, operations, and suppliers to ensure successful product launches that meet customer, regulatory, and business requirements.

Reports to: Electrical Engineering Manager

Key Focus Areas

• Lead the design and development of electrical systems, circuits, and components for new drinking water products, including filtration, dispensing, and connected solutions.
• Develop system architecture, schematics, PCB layouts, and wiring diagrams to support new product platforms.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety, performance, and regulatory standards (UL, FCC, CE, NSF, etc.).
• Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, and software engineers to deliver integrated product designs.
• Support prototype builds, testing, and design validation activities.
• Analyze and troubleshoot electrical issues, implementing corrective actions as required.
• Partner with suppliers and manufacturing to drive component selection, cost optimization, and design for manufacturability (DFM).
• Participate in project planning, milestone reviews, and cross-functional design reviews.
• Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, specifications, and test reports.
• Experience with C, C++, or similar programming languages.
• Stay current with emerging technologies to drive innovation in connected and sustainable water delivery solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required; Master's preferred.
• 3+ years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in product development or consumer/commercial products.
• Strong knowledge of circuit design, PCB layout, power electronics, sensors, and connectivity (wired/wireless).
• Familiarity with microcontrollers, embedded systems, and IoT technologies preferred.
• Hands-on experience with lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, etc.).
• Working knowledge of regulatory and safety compliance for electrical products.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment.
