Job summary

FUSTIS LLC in Charlotte, Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Durham is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead complex projects from concept through completion, mentoring engineers and ensuring regulatory compliance.

This Direct Hire hybrid role offers a compensation range of $135,000–$150,000, strong benefits, sign-on and annual bonus programs, and opportunities to apply Revit and AutoCAD to power distribution and mission-critical systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• Typically 15+ years of post-graduation professional engineering experience and/or 10+ years of professionally licensed experience.
• Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD; knowledge of electrical codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality electrical engineering designs and specifications across project complexities.
• Utilize Revit, AutoCAD, and other tools to improve design accuracy and documentation quality.
• Lead construction administration activities including RFIs, shop drawings, and field inspections with minimal supervision.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Team Leads, internal disciplines, external consultants, clients, and agencies to advance scope, schedule, and execution.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement.

Senior Electrical Engineer

As an Electrical Engineer III, you will lead complex electrical engineering projects from concept through completion while collaborating across disciplines to deliver tailored, high-quality solutions for clients. You will play a key role in aligning design intent, technical excellence, and regulatory compliance through the firms' Performance Based Design approach. You will also help strengthen the team by mentoring engineers and contributing to a collaborative, growth-focused environment

• Analyze project feasibility, system performance, and potential risks to provide proactive recommendations and technical insight.
• Review project documentation for quality, code compliance, and alignment with established standards before submission.
• Mentor junior engineers, share technical knowledge, and contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement efforts across the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure preferred but not required.
• Typically 15+ years of post-graduation professional engineering experience and/or 10+ years of professionally licensed experience.
• Proficiency with standard technology and software tools, including Revit and AutoCAD.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulatory requirements across the project lifecycle.
• Experience designing and optimizing complex power distribution systems, renewable energy systems, and mission-critical infrastructure.
• Ability to resolve advanced design and construction challenges, including power quality, system reliability, and integration of emerging technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information clearly through reports, presentations, and stakeholder collaboration.

Proven ability to mentor staff, balance stakeholder needs, and support team development in a collaborative project environment.
