Role Description

The Senior Electrical Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Detroit Metropolitan Area. This role is responsible for leading electrical design for building and industrial projects, including power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems. The Senior Electrical Engineer will prepare calculations, drawings, and specifications; coordinate with architecture, structural, mechanical, and other disciplines; and ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing project requirements, guiding junior engineers and designers, participating in client and internal meetings, resolving technical issues during design and construction, and supporting quality assurance processes.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering, with practical knowledge of electricity and applicable codes and standards.
• Proficiency in Electrical Design for buildings and industrial facilities, including lighting and low-voltage systems.
• Experience with Power Distribution and Power Systems design, analysis, and coordination.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Experience in multidisciplinary design environments, ideally within sectors such as industrial, aviation, or commercial facilities.
• Ability to lead projects, mentor junior staff, and manage multiple assignments with attention to detail and deadlines.
• Competence with relevant design and modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, power system analysis tools).
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external partners.
