Senior Electrical Engineer – Building Electrical

In this role, you will lead electrical design and project coordination for high‑performance facilities, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the work of Electrical Engineers with a multidisciplinary team throughout the entire project’s development.
• Establish client relations and participate in marketing, design, and production meetings regarding electrical systems.
• Assume the electrical lead on many projects.
• Participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance.
• Conduct schematic, design development, and contract document work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager, Project Architect, and other disciplines.
• Coordinate workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule.
• Track the financial aspects of projects and adjust the work effort with the team to ensure completion within agreed parameters.
• Work with the Project Manager and Regional Controller for project reviews with corporate management as needed.
• Direct activities of other electrical engineering professionals and act as a mentor to staff members as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong preference given to candidates with water/wastewater experience.
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
• Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desired.
• Preference given to local candidates.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting, power, systems).
• Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., PE or P.Eng).
• Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting and signal design, including life safety systems and building management systems.
• Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and electrical design software.
