Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology is required.
• Masters in Electrical Engineering or passing FE exam preferred.
• 5+ years of full-time professional engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze power systems including VFDs, relays, and components.
• Create 2D CAD layouts; collaborate on 3D enclosures and wire routings.
• Direct technicians and designers; manage revisions with PDM/EPDM.
• Create BOMs using SAP or SAP-like ERP systems.
• Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and PCBAs on scope.

Job description

The Senior Electrical Engineer position offers a variety of engineering opportunities including testing, design, 2D drafting, analysis, and prototyping of high-quality military grade HVAC\\R equipment. Our Environmental Control Unit (ECU) team is an exciting place to be if you are interesting new product development with multiple new designs taking shape right now. The Senior Electrical Engineer assists in design, development, implementation, and analysis of parts, systems and technical processes. Performs engineering design and analysis tasks with standard techniques. Works with mechanical engineering, other electrical engineers, and designers in the preparation of plans, designs, computation methods and reports. Completes engineering projects and electro-mechanical system designs to support the successful development, implementation, and sustainment of new systems and products, or modifications and revisions to current systems and products.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Power system design, including specifying VFDs, contactors, relays, and other components
• 2D CAD design experience required (AutoCAD software experience preferred)
• Work with mechanical engineers and designers to build 3D electrical enclosure layouts, wire routings, and other electrical-related details (Solid Works experience would be considered a plus)
• Complete designs and direct technical activities of assigned designers and technicians
• Use of Product Data Management (PDM) software for revision control (Solid Works EPDM experience would be considered a plus)
• Create/edit BOMs using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software (SAP experience preferred)
• Familiarity with analog and digital electrical circuits and components
• Familiarity with electrical component selection and panel wiring
• Familiarity with communication buses such as RS232/RS422/RS485, CAN bus, and Ethernet preferred
• Prefer experience with Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) design and development using internal and/or external resources
• Follow standard project management practices
• Proactively identifies and mitigates risk

• Reviews customer specifications and requirements, and, under direction, develops designs to best support them

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology degree required.
• Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering or passed FE exam preferred.

Experience

• Strong performance record as engineer with >5 years full-time professional experience.
