Job summary

Salas OBrien in Charlotte, NC seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to provide comprehensive electrical design for diverse construction projects. The role leads design efforts, prepares construction documents, and coordinates with architects, owners, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality electrical systems.

The candidate will travel nationally and internationally, review codes, and ensure NEC and energy code compliance.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering with PE registration required.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical design including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, coordination/arc flash studies.
• Extensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code and Building/NFPA/Energy Codes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software and able to balance multiple projects in a team.
• U.S. citizenship and valid driver's license.

Job Summary:

The Electrical Engineer will provide comprehensive electrical engineering services to support the design and delivery of construction projects for a diverse range of clients. This role involves leading design efforts, preparing detailed construction documents, and coordinating closely with architects, owners, and other project stakeholders to ensure high-quality and efficient electrical systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage the design effort on large and small projects.
• Handle design schedules and work with team members.
• Interact and work directly with Architects and Owners.
• Conduct preliminary evaluations.
• Prepare various reports and meeting minutes.
• Produce design documents (drawings and specifications).
• Willingness to travel for projects nationally and internationally.
• Design review to assure adherence to applicable codes, company standards and project requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering with PE Registration.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in Electrical Design including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, coordination/arc flash studies
• Extensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
• Strong knowledge of Building Codes, Applicable NFPA Codes and Energy Codes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software.
• Must be able to work as part of a team and balance multiple projects.
• Must be a US Citizen and have a valid drivers license.
