Job summary

Axcelis Technologies seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to design, develop and evaluate electronic hardware for advanced semiconductor equipment, translating complex requirements into robust hardware solutions. You will conduct analyses, reviews and validations to meet SEMI standards and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related required.
• Minimum of 5 years of electrical/electronic hardware design experience as an individual contributor.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience conducting technical design reviews with a larger group.
• Experience with engineering change notices in formal change process.
• One or more of the following: systems engineering, high-voltage, RF power, PCB design, power distribution design with Altium, PADS, PSpice.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, modifies and evaluates electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and hardware systems.
• Executes engineering projects and development of electromechanical systems including power distribution, vacuum systems, high voltage, control systems, robotics, safety interlocks and electro-static chuck technologies.
• Ensures adherence to the development process including requirements planning, schedule estimates, concept reviews, design reviews, verification, and validation test plans.
• Provide electrical engineering interface to the design services group and to offshore teams to deliver quality designs and on-time performance.
• Analyzes equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results.
• Ensures designs meet design objectives as well as safety, industry (SEMI), and customer specific requirements.
• Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
• May also review vendor capability to support product development.

Salary & Benefits

U.S. BASE SALARY RANGE $124,050.32 - $186,075.49. This base salary range reflects the typical compensation for this role across U.S. locations. Base pay is one part of our U.S. total compensation package which includes eligibility in the Axcelis Team Incentive bonus plan, and comprehensive benefits package (for regular employees working 20+ hours a week).
