Job summary

Hunt, Guillot & Associates (HGA) is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a direct-hire position in Baton Rouge, LA. The role leads electrical design efforts on complex petrochemical projects and reports to the E&I Department Manager.

Candidate will analyze scopes, guide designers, perform power studies and arc flash analysis, and develop vendor specifications. PE stamping is required for issued drawings, with seven+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum seven years of experience as an Electrical Engineer.
• Experience with consulting engineering firms on industrial projects.
• Lead Electrical Engineer experience on multiple petrochemical projects.
• Experience with electrical systems up to 13.8 kV.
• Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code and applicable standards.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project scopes and determine required design activities for complex electrical packages.
• Lead designers and drafters in developing construction drawings.
• Perform electrical calculations including power system studies and arc flash analysis.
• Develop electrical specifications and technical requirements for vendor equipment.
• Provide input to control system, DCS, PLC, and Safety Instrumented Systems specs.
• Provide input to P&ID drawings and interface with client Electrical SMEs.
• Perform quality checks and reviews of electrical design packages.
• Apply PE stamp to issued-for-construction drawings.

Hunt, Guillot & Associates (HGA) is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a direct‑hire position supporting projects in Baton Rouge, LA. This role reports to the E&I Department Manager and serves as a lead technical resource on complex petrochemical projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze project scopes and determine required design activities needed to complete complex electrical engineering design packages.
• Lead and direct designers and drafters in the development of construction drawing packages in accordance with industry and client standards.
• Perform detailed electrical calculations, including power system studies and arc flash analysis.
• Develop electrical specifications and technical requirements for vendor‑supplied equipment.
• Provide electrical input to control system, DCS, PLC, and Safety Instrumented Systems specifications.
• Provide electrical input to P&ID drawings.
• Interface with client Electrical Subject Matter Experts.
• Perform thorough quality checks and reviews of electrical design packages.
• Apply Professional Engineer (PE) stamp to issued‑for‑construction electrical drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college.
• Minimum seven years of experience as an Electrical Engineer.
• Experience working for a consulting engineering firm on industrial projects.
• Demonstrated experience in the petrochemical industry serving as a Lead Electrical Engineer on multiple projects.
• Experience with industrial electrical systems, including equipment specifications up to 13.8 kV.
• Thorough knowledge of engineering practices, procedures, and design standards, including the National Electrical Code and other applicable codes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Instrument Engineer experience.
• Electrical systems design experience using Visual Lighting Design Software, ETAP Power Analysis, SKM, and/or EasyPower.
