EQ3 in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to own electrical design documentation for islanded, behind-the-meter microgrids, including single-line and three-line diagrams, wiring schedules and system schematics that feed the EOR stamp.
You will size conductors and gear for MV/LV/DC, ensure NEC, UL 1741-SB, NFPA 855 compliance, and collaborate with the EOR, vendors and field teams to maintain the drawings from design to IFC.
A venture-backed energy company building off-grid power plants for AI data centers. The company designs and delivers islanded, behind-the-meter microgrids using solar, battery storage and power electronics, and it handles everything in-house, from racking and power electronics to dispatch software and on-site construction. It is partnered with one of the largest compute providers in the world on a multi-GW deployment pipeline.
The team values high ownership, speed, first-principles thinking and no hierarchy.
The Senior Electrical Design Engineer owns the electrical design documentation that turns system architecture into a plant that can be built. This means single-line and three-line diagrams, wiring schedules and system schematics for islanded microgrids. The role sizes the system across MV, LV and DC collection and produces the basis of design that the external Engineer of Record (EOR) stamps against. It reports to the Director of Power Systems Engineering.
This role is not the stamping engineer of record, and it does not cover controls logic.
