Job summary

Salas O’Brien, an employee-owned engineering and professional services firm, seeks a Senior Electrical Draftsman to support the Scorpius program in Los Alamos, NM. The role collaborates with electrical engineers to develop and maintain accurate design and as-built documentation for complex systems.

Required eight+ years in electrical drafting, strong CAD skills, and ability to follow drawing standards, configuration control, and document quality. DOE security clearance may be needed.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of progressive electrical drafting/design experience in regulated environments.
• Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD; experience with AutoCAD Electrical and/or MicroStation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, revise, and maintain electrical drawings under engineers' direction.
• Develop and update single-line diagrams, schematics, cable schedules, and layouts.
• Translate markups, calculations, sketches, specs, and field notes into drawings.
• Perform revisions, redline incorporation, and as-built updates with revision history.
• Participate in field walkdowns to validate conditions and identify drawing discrepancies.
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines to resolve interfaces and maintain consistency.
