Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking an Engineer II/III to support an electrical distribution engineering team serving residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal customers. The role covers projects from concept through construction, with emphasis on customer communication and coordination across internal teams.

The Engineer III level requires a BS in engineering (ABET) with 4+ years of experience; Engineer II requires 2+ years and ABET BS or PE. Hybrid work and field site visits are involved.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in engineering; PE preferred.
• 2+ years engineering experience for Engineer II, 4+ years for Engineer III.
• Master's degree can substitute for BS for Engineer II/III.

Responsibilities

• Provides engineering guidance for problem analysis and resolution.
• Plans, schedules and monitors work activities to achieve goals.
• Communicates with customers, developers, contractors, and operations teams.
• Prepares technical reports, calculations and sketches for defined problems.
• Conducts engineering studies and manages projects with increasing independence.
• Maintains accurate records and supports company goals and image.
