We offer a variety of engineering services, including owner's engineering, project development, detailed engineering and design, construction management and plant services. We are a high performing team of engineers and designers that develop projects through the project life-cycle engaging exciting projects throughout North America. Our staff leads the power markets engineering process and collaborates with Kiewit’s construction teams to approach construction-driven engineering with a focus on safe, cost-effective, and innovative designs that achieve client expectations and further Kiewit’s legacy of excellence.

Location

This position is located in Washington, in the Seattle, Vancouver or Federal way areas with the opportunity to work in a hybrid model or eligible to work remotely from home, depending on your location.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver Electrical designs and 3D models for Power generation projects, using SmartPlant3d and Naviswork, using applicable engineering national and local codes
  • Electrical design experience includes component and complete system layouts including duct bank, embedded conduit, cable tray, grounding and lighting systems from concept to completion utilizing engineering documents, sketches or vendor data.
  • Generate raceway, lighting and power plan, section and perspective drawings from the 3D model.
  • Reports project progression updates and/or issues to project lead team.
  • Coordinates with project team by utilizing the Project Database: Request for Review Process, Holds List, ECN, Request for information from other disciplines, and all other applicable functions.
  • Develops 3D models utilizing drawings, sketches, and design skills. Checks and navigates in the 3D models for interferences and constructability.
  • Routes electrical cables in a 3D environment to generate a cable schedule.
  • Model electrical components using vendor submittals and electrical designs
  • Perform calculations to check allowable fill in conduits and cable tray systems according to NEC requirements and size pull boxes.
  • Perform calculations to size pull boxes according to NEC requirements.
  • Gathers information needed to develop design and verify voltage separation requirements are met.
  • Creates plan drawings and details for electrical deliverables.
  • Analyze, inspect, and construct designs while adhering to electrical quality standards and department procedures
  • Checks design for consistency, safety, operability, and maintenance requirements before submitting to checking.
  • Resolves checked drawings; prove and understand comments made.
  • Completes miscellaneous tasks to support project development.
  • Acts as a field resource to assist construction in field resolution on issues.
Qualifications
  • At least 8+ years’ experience in electrical component and systems design and/or Drafting with recent experience with Electrical Physical Design (and circuit and raceway)
  • Highly proficient with 3D modeling , preferably using Smartplant3D, but will consider proficiency in other 3D modeling/cad tools with experience in Power or Oil and gas electrical systems.
  • Experience in Power generation electrical design is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and multi-discipline team environment
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction and oversight
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to mentor more junior designers

Base Compensation:$45/hr -$75/hr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or LOCATION)
