Job summary

Onward Search partners with a respected multidisciplinary engineering firm to hire a Senior Electrical Designer for our Newport Beach, CA office. This full-time role focuses on designing electrical systems for commercial, healthcare, and institutional projects, while collaborating with a skilled engineering team.

You will lead the development of power distribution and lighting designs, producing construction documents with AutoCAD and Revit, and supporting field execution.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of electrical design or electrical engineering experience in building systems and power distribution.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit and experience producing construction documents for commercial, healthcare, education, or institutional facilities.
• Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards; California project experience, PE licensure or related credentials are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of building electrical systems, including power distribution and lighting.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, owners, and internal teams to deliver construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Support projects through construction by addressing field questions and resolving design issues.

We’re partnering with our client, a respected multidisciplinary engineering firm, to find a Senior Electrical Designer for their Newport Beach, California office. This is a full-time opportunity for an experienced electrical professional who enjoys working on a diverse mix of commercial, healthcare, education, mixed-use, and institutional projects while collaborating with a highly skilled engineering team.

Senior Electrical Designer Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and related infrastructure for commercial and institutional projects.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, owners, and internal engineering teams to deliver accurate, high-quality construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Support projects through construction by responding to field questions, resolving design issues, and ensuring successful project execution.

Senior Electrical Designer Qualifications:

• 7+ years of electrical design or electrical engineering experience in building systems and power distribution.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit, along with experience producing construction documents for commercial, healthcare, education, or institutional facilities.
• Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards; California project experience, PE licensure, DSA, HCAI, SKM, ETAP, or Title 24 knowledge is a plus.
