Job summary

Gaylor Electric, Inc. seeks an Engineering Manager to lead a nationwide team delivering electrical systems design and installation on diverse projects valued from $1M to $400M.

You will supervise design engineers and the virtual design group, ensure code-compliant, cost-effective solutions, and collaborate with architects, clients, and subcontractors to meet project goals. The role requires strong leadership, deep NEC knowledge, and hands-on experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM platforms.

Qualifications

• Revit Certification or 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
• 10+ years preferred of electrical experience and Virtual Designer career development.
• Experience supervising a design/engineering team within an electrical contractor.
• Proven knowledge of the National Electrical Code and related codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple projects during preconstruction, managing design engineers and VDC team.
• Maintain code compliance and best-practice design standards.
• Perform/load calculations, voltage drop, short circuit, and lighting analysis.
• Oversee and mentor design engineers, ensuring schedules and budgets are met.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP subcontractors, and clients; attend meetings.
• Review contracts, BIM plans, scopes, and site drawings for compliance.
• Develop coordination and installation drawings per best practices.
• Support value engineering and project coordination on site.
