Caterpillar Inc. is hiring a Sr. Design Engineer in Peoria, IL to design and collaborate on electrical systems for the Operator Station of Medium Wheel Loader.

You will communicate with global partners, suppliers, and Product Group teams to deliver robust, cost-effective designs. The role involves leading small NPI projects, supporting quality initiatives, and ensuring electrical system continuity with the machine as a whole.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Experience designing electrical systems for operator station environments.
• Proficiency with CREO or similar parametric modeling software.
• Experience collaborating with global partners and suppliers.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically/internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead small projects for New Product Introduction by designing product and releasing drawings.
• Provide support for product quality initiatives and design maintenance.
• Design electrical systems for the Operator Station environment.
• Develop electrical systems achieving low-cost provider (LCP).
• Collaborate with component and manufacturing partners plus suppliers in CPPD.
