Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to join our team supporting nuclear, DOE, and other highly regulated industrial projects. The role requires technical leadership, design oversight, and a hands-on approach to complex electrical systems across multiple sites.

Ideal candidates bring 10–15+ years of electrical engineering experience, strong leadership, and proficiency with ETAP, AutoCAD, and related tools.

Qualifications

10-15+ years of electrical engineering experience in nuclear, DOE, or similar complex industrial facilities.
Demonstrated experience leading electrical design efforts on multidisciplinary projects.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required or able to obtain licensure in a reasonable timeframe.

Responsibilities

Lead development, review, and coordination of electrical engineering designs for nuclear, DOE, and industrial projects.
Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineers and designers.
Review and approve engineering calculations, specifications, studies, drawings, and design packs.
Perform detailed power system analyses (ETAP) including short-circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, voltage drop, motor starting, and load flow.
Develop engineering recommendations ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and act as primary electrical contact for clients and stakeholders.
Travel to client offices, vendor facilities, and project sites as needed.
