SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Engineering Supervisor, the Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for working closely with highly skilled mechanical, electrical, and project management professionals, to design electrical systems. K nowledgeable in applicable engineering methods, practices, standards, and is expected to be a department champion in ensuring engineering department methods and practices are up to date, this includes training, knowledge sharing, technical guidance and checking of work of other department members. A key role will be to understand and adapt global group company technologies for application in North American customer sites while ensuring adherence to relevant North American standards and accepted industry practices. In addition, this position is responsible for the ongoing implementation of improved quality and reliability of Muratec group company systems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum ten (10) years’ experience as an Electrical Engineer in an industrial/engineering/automation environment. Experience with EPLAN and AutoCAD Electrical required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization. As part of this position there will be a requirement to communicate with group company members who have varying degrees of fluency in English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to convert and perform engineering calculations in all units of measure, using appropriate levels of accuracy and units of precision. Ability to compute and conduct equipment process related rate analyses, determine critical ratios, and percent values of interdependent relationships and to convey complex findings in simple to interpret graphs and/or other types of visualizations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
TRAVEL
This position is up to 20% travel. A valid driver’s license and good driving record are required. Must have or be eligible to obtain a passport for international travel.
