Job Description

The Senior Electrical Design Engineer is an electronic systems focused Engineer that will lead design efforts to create new process instruments that monitor corrosion. You will utilize your strong design experience in digital, firmware, and analog disciplines to develop cutting edge technology that will help us create a world where human lives and the environment are protected from the impacts of corrosion.

In this role you will deliver clear design plans and well-thought-out technical work. You will collaborate closely with fellow design engineers, team members, and external parties. You will take complete ownership of your work and mentor / coach other engineers in their technical growth. To succeed in this role, you will have proven experience leading the design efforts of several successful electrical and/or electro-mechanical products from idea to commercialization. You will be a self-starter and seek to resolve complex technical design and customer challenges.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Own the design process: conceptualize, design, prototype, test, document, manufacture, and validate your designs in the real-world Assist in the development of engineering plans and costs for complex engineering projects Provide engineering support to customers, manufacturing, sales, and services Visit customer and vendor facilities as required in the development of new products Develop, implement, and document changes to current products to improve quality and/or lower costs. Optimize manufacturability of products Seek out novel ways to solve challenging problems and share your product ideas

Required Competencies

• Design experience with industrial embedded systems and communications (digital), including software and firmware development
• Design experience with low power / voltage instrumentation design (analog)
• Strong experience with PCB design schematic and layout software
• Works well in teams, including a sense of urgency and commitment to deadlines
• Passion for continuous improvement and internal and external customer satisfaction
  
  

Position Requirements

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering, advance degree preferred
• Minimum of 10 years experience in the design of complex electronic systems
  
  

Preferred Experience

• Industrial instrumentation design for global Oil and Gas, Chemical, and/or Water industries
• Knowledge of and direct experience in designing for hazardous locations including (ATEX, CSA, UL, others) as well as FCC/CE and radio certifications
• C/C++ programming experience (legacy products)
• Knowledge: RoHS, 4-20mA, Modbus, HART, Wireless HART, ISA100, OPC, LoRa, I2C, Serial
• Software: PADS, MP Lab, Auto Desk, Python, Java, C#, Android, Linux
