Job description

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, applicants must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by EAR and ITAR, including U.S. Citizens and U.S. Permanent Residents.

Responsibilities for this Position

A Senior Electrical Design Engineer is being sought to design and develop products for the latest high-tech secure surveillance systems.

We’re looking for an all-round design engineer that has a proven track record in product design, that can work in a small team of RockStar engineers.

Janteq designs and builds High Definition audio/video digital microwave transmitter and receiver systems for Government Federal Security applications, along with the Broadcast industry.

Experience in many of the following areas is required:

• Board level design around FPGAs, SOC FPGAs and memory systems
• Analog and power supplies, battery charging and low-power design
• High speed circuit design around buses such as PCIe, USB and Ethernet
• Designing, building, testing/debugging, and producing high quality embedded products
• Altium CAD, ideally including layout of high-layer-count high-technology boards
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and strong decision-making, organizational skills with initiative. Able to produce quality work with minimal checking or oversight.
• Use of source control and PLM systems would be an advantage
• Familiarity with any wireless broadcast, RF transmitter and receiver design, WiFi, MESH radio or DVB/COFDM would be useful
• Familiarity with Digital Video and Audio, including compression, MPEG, H.264 and ASI
• Embedded processors running Linux. Linux software driver ability would be great.
• Strong hands-on skills including prototyping/soldering and the use of a full range of instrumentation including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers
• The candidate must be an excellent communicator, be able to multitask, and work well on collaborative designs as a key member in a small team

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary.

Combined Salary Range

USD $132,500.00 - USD $146,900.00 /Yr.
