Ozinga Bros, Inc. in Illinois is seeking a Senior Electrical/Controls Technician to maintain plant and building electrical systems, install wiring, perform routine maintenance, and handle live-wire work under the guidance of the Electrical/Automation Manager.

The role requires skilled troubleshooting and the ability to work safely on complex control circuits. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in an industrial setting, knowledge of NFPA-70/70E, and PLC basics, with willingness to read schematics

Qualifications

5+ years’ experience in an industrial setting with 110v/208v and 480v, including bending and threading conduit.
Ability to read and interpret manuals, parts catalogs, electrical/control schematics.
Knowledge of NFPA-70 (NEC) and NFPA 70E (ARC Flash & Electrical Safety).
Basic knowledge in PLC architecture, programming, installations, and maintenance practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

Analyze overall plant systems and their operations ensuring proper functionality.
Perform electrical preventative maintenance and troubleshooting in a systematic manner when applicable.
Plans, directs, and records periodic electrical testing, recommend modification or replacement of equipment failing to meet operating standards.
Installs/repairs wiring & small conduit, including bending and threading of conduit according to NEC standards.
Monitors inventory levels to ensure timely availability of parts and materials.
