Job summary

HarbisonWalker International is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer III to maintain and update control systems across multiple facilities. You will lead electrical projects, mentor staff, and drive maintenance excellence with Lean/Six Sigma practices.

Strong PLC and HMI programming, ISA 9001-like awareness, and cross-functional collaboration are essential. The role focuses on cost reduction, uptime improvement, safety, and quality gains, interfacing with the Engineering department regularly

Qualifications

• Requires B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; ability to communicate across all levels.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, advanced Excel and PowerPoint; AutoCAD required.
• Experience with lean and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong strategic thinking and business problem solving abilities.
• Proven collaboration, interpersonal, communications and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply electrical/electronic engineering techniques to improve manufacturing processes and products.
• Lead, facilitate, and manage electrical projects to reduce costs and improve customer experience.
• Develop best practices and standard work with Operations and Maintenance to drive maintenance excellence.
• Mentor electrical staff and perform root-cause analysis to drive continuous improvement.
• Assemble reports documenting process status and changes.
