Job summary

Scotts Miracle-Gro is seeking a Sr. Electrical & Controls Engineer to act as the site's technical authority for electrical systems and power distribution. You will lead a team of electricians, drive capital projects, and ensure safe, modern, compliant infrastructure.

Responsibilities include strategic roadmaps, operations support, and PLC management with Siemens? (Allen Bradley) PLCs. You will mentor staff, uphold NFPA-70E safety standards, and collaborate across IT and Operations to improve

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a proven track record.
10+ years in manufacturing/industrial environment focused on electrical systems and controls.
Hands-on expertise with installation, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
Proficiency with Allen Bradley PLC programming, troubleshooting and industrial networking.
Strong knowledge of NFPA-70E and electrical safety standards.
Leadership experience coaching tradespeople or technicians in fast-paced settings.
Problem-solver with a 'find a way' attitude to improve KPIs through engineering.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute a multi-year roadmap for electrical and control system upgrades; own capital project requests.
Provide ongoing technical support for plant operations and troubleshoot equipment to minimize downtime.
Oversee installation and integration of MCCs, Power Distribution Panels, and facility-wide electrical grids.
Coach and mentor the electrical discipline to foster continuous learning.
Serve as SME for Allen Bradley PLCs; manage ladder logic updates and network communications.
Champion NFPA-70E, Arc Flash, LOTO, and Energized Work Permits; conduct safety audits and permits.
Bridge Operations and IT to manage industrial networks and hardware upgrades.
Apply TPM and Lean methods to drive reliability and reduce downtime.
