Job summary

Fervo Energy seeks a Lead Electrical Commissioning Technician to oversee field execution of commissioning activities for geothermal facilities, substations, and interconnections. You will manage schedules, testing, troubleshooting, and system handovers while coordinating with internal teams, contractors, and O&M staff.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical equivalent in Electrical/Instrumentation/Controls.
• 5+ years commissioning experience in power generation or industrial facilities.
• Strong understanding of industrial safety practices and safe work execution.
• Deep understanding of three-phase electrical power systems, VFDs, substations, and power distribution.
• Proven success managing third-party commissioning scopes within hybrid teams.
• Deep understanding of plant systems integration and industry standards/regulations.
• Proven leadership in field-based commissioning, construction, or operations.
• Strong understanding of power plant electrical systems, testing methodologies, and startup processes.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple concurrent commissioning scopes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for reporting and stakeholder coordination.
• Collaborative mindset with experience leading cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site commissioning for geothermal facilities, substations, and interconnections ensuring safe energization and turnover.
• Coordinate internal teams, contractors, vendors, and O&M for integrated system readiness.
• Direct commissioning scopes across engineering, construction, and utilities via daily field meetings.
• Represent commissioning in readiness reviews, energization planning, and performance testing.
• Guide and mentor staff on commissioning standards and best practices.
