Job summary

Walker Engineering Inc. seeks a Senior Virtual Designer to support Commercial and Data Center Projects in Dallas, Houston, Austin, or San Antonio. In-office role with relocation assistance when needed.

You will build and manage detailed 3D models and shop drawings for complex electrical systems using AutoCAD MEP, Revit, and NavisWorks. Strong technical accuracy and clear communication are essential to support fast-paced construction teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years electrical CAD drafting in commercial construction.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD MEP and Revit.
• Experience with NavisWorks for review and information extraction.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud / Procore (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Model and coordinate 3D electrical systems.
• Create detailed 3D models from layouts.
• Run clash detection with NavisWorks Manage.
• Support BIM coordination through final model signoff.
• Develop design-build models with engineering.
• Produce electrical shop drawings and Bills of Materials.
• Maintain AutoCAD and Revit templates and standards.
• Extract information from BIM models.
• Mentor Virtual Designers and Detailers.
• Support BIM Manager with budgets and workflows.
• Coordinate with operations, GCs, and MEP partners.
