Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Missouri is seeking a maintenance technician with a strong electrical and mechanical emphasis to support automated industrial systems. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting of electro-automation equipment, motors, drives, and PLCs, plus the ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, 2–3 years of automation experience, and be able to work flexible hours including overtime.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years electro-automation system installation and troubleshooting experience.
• Operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery including motors, servos, pumps, drives and relays.
• Understands hydraulic and pneumatic systems and 3-phase power.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
• PLC troubleshooting and problem-solving with mechanical and electrical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot and service electro-automation systems in a manufacturing setting.
• Maintain and repair electrical controls, drives, sensors, and power transmission equipment.
• Read schematics and wiring diagrams; support hydraulic/pneumatic components.
• Perform basic welding and operate safely to meet quality standards.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
