Job summary

ElectroCraft, Inc. seeks a Design Engineer to design, develop, and optimize electric motor components and systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovations that meet performance, efficiency, and reliability goals in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes CAD-based design, FEA/thermal analyses, prototyping, and rigorous testing to validate concepts. Strong emphasis on documentation, cost-conscious design, and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; 5+ years in design engineering.
• Experience in electric motor or rotating machinery design (EV/AMR/AGV highly preferred).
• Proficient with CAD software and FEA tools; knowledge of control systems and motor drives.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electric motor components and systems (rotors, stators, windings, housings).
• Perform FEA and thermal/electromagnetic simulations to optimize performance.
• Prototype, test, troubleshoot, and validate designs to meet efficiency and durability targets.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, QA, and supply chain to ensure manufacturability and cost targets.
• Prepare technical documents, BOMs, and test reports for product development.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce weight, improve efficiency, and lower costs.
• Ensure compliance with UL, IEC, NEMA standards and environmental regulations.
• Manage multiple design projects with schedule discipline.
