Job summary

Pacific Gas and Electric Company seeks an experienced Electric Distribution Engineer, Senior to ensure safe, reliable operation of the electric power system. The role provides technical, planning, and project implementation support for substations, distribution networks, and distributed generation in a hybrid work model in California.

The position requires a strong background in power systems engineering, a minimum of seven years of experience, and an active California PE license.

Qualifications

• BSEE, MSEE, or PhD in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in electrical power engineering and design.
• Active California PE license or master’s degree in electrical engineering may credit for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform the job duties of an Electric Distribution engineer with broad scope and complexity.
• Apply extensive knowledge of power systems engineering to resolve complex problems.
• Lead load forecasting and capacity planning efforts for distribution.
• Develop and update reliability and performance metrics for the system.
• Provide guidance to operations and engineering personnel on standards and processes.
• Assist with regulatory communications and data requests as needed.
