Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking an Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls Superintendent to lead field activities for instrumentation and Low Voltage systems on water/wastewater projects.

You will manage subcontractors, coordinate with commissioning agents and owners, and drive commissioning from installation through startup. The ideal candidate has deep field experience, strong communication, and a commitment to quality and schedule.

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years' experience in construction with focus on instrumentation, controls and low voltage coordination.
Thorough knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and low-voltage systems with commissioning.
Understanding of Building, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing codes as they relate to construction.
Experience managing instrumentation, controls and low voltage subcontracts and relationships.
Ability to work in a large team with a problem-solving, project-first mentality.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering is a plus; water/wastewater exp. preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and manage commissioning schedules for instrumentation, controls and low voltage systems.
Coordinate with commissioning agent, owner, and subcontractors to ensure on-schedule startup.
Assist scheduling with detailed CPM schedules for start-up, building management, and commissioning activities.
Review submittals and approve materials for instrumentation, controls and low voltage systems.
Monitor installation and startup activities with engineers, inspectors, and owners' reps.
Communicate progress and prepare reports for project managers and stakeholders.
