Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced engineering leader to manage and deliver EHV transmission line projects, including 500kV and 765kV designs for utilities, COOPs, and developers. The role requires coordinating multiple disciplines and guiding teams through design development and client engagement.

You will mentor engineers, ensure on-time, on-budget project execution, and provide expert technical guidance across the life cycle of large transmission projects.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree or a management/business degree.
• 10+ years of Project Management experience on Utility Transmission projects.
• 5+ years of experience in 500kV and/or 765kV transmission line design.
• Expertise in electrical considerations for 765kV lines.
• Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of NESC, IEC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE and ANSI standards.
• Experience as a firm/client liaison in a support or lead role.
• Ability to multitask with competing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willing to travel to project sites and attend client meetings.

Responsibilities

• Function as a subject matter specialist and technical resource for EHV transmission line designs.
• Lead and mentor the engineering project team in design execution.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with client leads and stakeholders.
• Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to meet specifications and client requirements.
• Prepare reports presenting project information clearly and concisely.
• Perform independent reviews of engineering designs and calculations.
