AFL provides industry-leading fiber optic products and services worldwide. The EHSS Manager – Wireless Operations leads safety and security across AFL Wireless construction and select field activities, protecting people while enabling project execution.

Reporting to the Senior EHSS Manager – US Services, this field-heavy role requires rigorous risk assessment, stop-work authority when critical controls fail, and collaboration with customers, contractors, and service providers to ensure safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in EHSS, construction mgmt, engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of EHSS experience in construction or field-based operations.
• Demonstrated experience in multi-employer construction environments.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Ability to influence without authority and build credibility with leaders and contractors.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and support off-hours work.

Responsibilities

• Lead proactive, risk-based safety culture across Wireless Operations.
• Serve as EHSS liaison between leadership, customers, contractors and partners.
• Identify hazards, perform risk assessments, and verify critical controls.
• Oversee contractor safety oversight, onboarding, and site orientation.
• Lead investigations of incidents and near-misses; drive corrective actions.
• Support training, audits, and regulatory interactions.
• Maintain accurate EHSS records and reporting; drive continuous improvement.
